Congratulations on the website it reflects the standard I always associate with WHS where I spent six happy years.  There was always a great spirit to achieve and I feel privileged to have come in contact with the students.  I am not able to attend the reunion  which I know will be a fun time to recall happy memories.  Pass on my best wishes to everyone.  Regards, John Flynn

After Wollongong High I went to Lake Illawarra High as Head Teacher Maths (1975 - 1990) then onto Illawarra Sports High (Berkeley High) as Deputy Principal (1991 - 2003).  I retired in 2003 and have spent a great deal of my time since then travelling in Australia and overseas.  Sport still occupies an important part in my life with Jim Wade and myself still 'running' around a squash court.  Football is still in the blood and I have the occasional game of Golden Oldies Rugby with Storky and Touch Footy in Summer.

I have attached a recent photo of myself and my wife Erika (I'm the one on the left).

I have just realised that the 1969 cohort and I started at W.H.S. in the same year (1964).  I had transferred from Bulli High School where I had taken up my first appointment in 1956.  In 1967 I replaced Jack Huxley as "Commerce Master" (Sexism was alive and well.)  In 1981 I went to Port Kembla High as Deputy Principal, then to Cootamundra High in 1986 as Principal.  Retired 1990. That's about it.  See you in October. Please wear name-tags.  If I caned you at school I owe you a beer.

Sorry for the delay, I've been trying to contact other former teachers.  No luck, sad to say.  One will be in Canberra with her grandchildren, an other will be in London with her daughter, and others have not returned my calls.  So...... I've plucked up courage and decided to come. I found out about the reunion in the NSW Teachers Federation newsletter.  I look forward to meeting at the golf club on October, 17th.

Thanks, Keith, for the info about the WHS reunion. No, I didn't know it was on in October and was expecting it to be April next year.  You can count me in for Sat 17 October - I will look forward to seeing all my old friends from Wollongong High as I remember those years with great fondness.

Dear Keith and Committee, thankyou for your kind invitation.  I had heard a whisper the reunion was on and would like to catch up with everyone.  I still remember the memorable in particular and many others fondly.  My days at WHS were indeed happy ones.  I'll be travelling from next weekend until middle of October but will try to return in time for the reunion.  I'll have a proper look at your website and see when you need final numbers and will be in touch etc.  Good luck with all the arrangements.  Regards  Adele
